Tour Plan


Day 1. Arrival in Tashkent. Sightseeing in Tashkent

Reception at the international airport; Transfer to the hotel, check in and leisure.
During the city tour we'll visit the old part of Tashkent: Khast Imam Square, with a number of historical monuments like the Mausoleum of Kaffal Shashi, Barak Khan Madrassah, Tilla Sheikh Mosque and the library, which houses one of the oldest copies of Osman's Koran, dated back to the VII century. Our further destination is the oldest Tashkent Bazaar – Chorsu. You will see several stations of the Tashkent Metro, walk through the Independence Square- Mustakillik; and visit the Museum of Applied arts.
Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 2. Tashkent –Urgench (flight) – Khiva (30 km drive). Sightseeing

 Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the domestic airport and flight to Urgench. Transfer to Khiva.
Khiva is the epitome of Oriental tales, the city surrounded by a defensive wall, like the scenery for a film about the middle ages.
Sightseeing of the fortress city of Khiva includes :- the Minaret Kalta Minor, Muhammad Amin Khan Madrassah, the Kunya Ark Fortress, including reception hall kurinishkhona, Madrassah of Muhammad Rakhim Khan, Mausoleum of Pakhlavan Makhmud , Islam Khoja Madrasah and Minaret.
The further sight will be the Juma Mosque with 212 columns, surprising with a fine work of wood carving; Kutlug-Murad Inaka Madrassah , Allakuli Khan Madrassah and Tash Khovli Palace with the Harem.
At the end of the city tour we can take beautiful pictures of the ancient Khiva at sunset. Overnight in Khiva.

Day 3. Moving Khiva - Bukhara (470 km, 7-8 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we have a 470 km route, where 300 km lay through the Kizil Kum desert (red Sands). Break near the biggest river of Central Asia – Amu Darya - on the way.
Another option is to take a train to Bukhara, which operates on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 08:50, arrival to Bukhara at 14:50 (this schedule is subject to be changed).
Arrival in Bukhara. Check in and accommodation at the hotel. Today we will visit Poi Kalyan ensemble, consisting of Kalyan Mosque, Miri-Arab Madrassah and Kalyan Minaret, one of the tallest minarets in Central Asia built by the ruler Arslan Khan and the word itself translated as the great Kalyan.
Go on sightseeing and visit the Ulugbek Madrassah, built in the XV century by the grandson of Tamerlane, a prominent mathematician and astronomer, and the Madrassah of Abdulaziz Khan, located opposite the Ulugbek Madrassah. Passing through the trading domes, you will see the Magoki Attori Mosque and architectural ensemble Lyabi-Hauz, which is composed by three monuments: Kukeldash Madrassah, Nodir Divan Begi Madrassah and Khanaka. Bukhara is supposed to be a birthplace of the legendary Nasreddin Hodja, known for his sharp word and wisdom.
Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 4. Bukhara. Sightseeing in Bukhara. Transfer to Samarkand (280 km, 5 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will continue a sightseeing in Bukhara.
Bukhara is a city-museum under the open sky treasuring over 170 ancient monuments. One of the most ancient is the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, built at the order of the founder of the Samanides dynasty. Visit the Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo Khauz Mosque, Ark Fortress. Lunch in Bukhara. Transfer to Samarkand.
Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 5. Tour in Samarkand. Transfer Samarkand – Tashkent (300 km, 2 hours by train)

Breakfast at the hotel. Full sightseeing day in Samarkand. This day, we will visit the Gur Emir Mausoleum (tomb of the Timurides dynasty), the famous Registan Square, and its three monumental ancient buildings - the Madrassah of Ulugbek, Sher Dor Madrassah and Tillya-Kori.
Then we will see the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, according to legends constructed at the order of Tamerlane’s beloved wife. Walk through the Bazaar Siab, to see a daily life of local people.
Continue the tour by visiting the ensemble of Mausoleums of Shakhi-Zinda, a place of pilgrimage for Muslims and at the same time one of the most beautiful ensembles of this amazing city.
Then we will visit the Ulugbek’s Observatory.
Transfer to the railway station for train to Tashkent. Arrival and check in the hotel and leisure. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 6. Sightseeing in Tashkent. Departure from Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning visiting memorial complex dedicated to the victims of repressions of Stalin regime, White mosque, the Courage monument dedicated to the liquidation of consequences of the earthquake of 1966.
Lunch. Transfer to the railway station for the train to Almaty. Departure from Tashkent.

Day 7. Almaty city tour

We will arrive in Almaty in morning and after pick up you at the train station we will drive in the city.
Almaty is the biggest city in Kazakhstan, located in the south est part of the country. The population is around 1,8 million habitant.
The city was very famous for be the old capital and the city remain the economic, financial and the cultural center of all Kazakhstan and Central Asia. It’s very ethical city, full of older buildings, oriental bazaars, church, mosques and a lot of other interesting things to see.
Tour program: 09.30 – Visit of the Ascension Cathedral, the famous beautiful Russian Orthodox cathedral
10.00 – Visit the Green Bazaar and the Central Mosque
12.00 – Transfer to Koktobe, and lunch in amazing restaurant where you can see all the city from the top
14.00 – Visit of Shimbulak mountain resort ( by cable railway ) and time for small excursion around the area
16.30 – Go back to the hotel, free time in evening

Day 8-9. Kolsai, Kaindy Lake and Charyn Canyon

The magnificent cascade of Kolsai lakes are located 290 kilometers south-east of Almaty.
That area is surrounded by three amazing alpine lakes, which are called Kolsai-1, Kolsai-2 and Kolsai-3, located respectively at an altitude of 1700, 2252 and 2650 meters above sea level. A lot of people consider them the pearl of the Northern Tien Shan mountains.
Kaindy lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Kazakhstan, and still not really touristic place.
The lake is located at an altitude of 2000m, 26 kilometers far from the Kaindy river with the same name, near the Kolsai lake.
Translated from the Kazakh “Kaindy” means “abundant in birch”, the meaning of the name is because is full of large birch groves, located near the area and inside the lake in a spectacular way.
The first day we will hike around Kolsai lake and we can arrive to the second lake ( is possible do the road by horses also ) and the second day we will go to the second lake and to the Charyn Canyon and we will go back to Almaty in late evening.

10-11 Days. Singing dunes and Aktau mountain

Altyn-Emel National Park is located in the Ili River Valley, here we can see the sand desert, mountains and green areas. The park was founded on April 10, 1996, with the objective to preserve a natural park complex, as well as archaeological and historical monuments. It is the largest reserve in Kazakhstan and part of UNESCO's world heritage.

On first day we will drive around 250km from Almaty and we will see the Singing Sand dunes. That dunes are famous because Genghis Khan with is army was there 800 years ago and because you will hear a strange sound from the trees around and from the sand.
We will try to hike the biggest dune that is around 150mt and we will have some time for explore the area.
The second day we will visit the Aktau Mountain, we can walk near there around 30-40 minutes and see the incredible landscape that turn from yellow to red, violet, orange and white due to the presence of different minerals.

12 Day. Big Almaty Lake

After Altyn-Emel National Park we will drive back to the city and we will visit the Almaty big Lake.
The big Almaty Lake is at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level, before you arrive there, you can admire the natural beauty of the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains.
From the main road all start to change compare with the city, road climbs higher and higher, the landscape is changing, more and more huge mossy stones appear on the slopes. According to scientists, more than 2,000 years ago there was a strong earthquake in these places, literally moving mountains. As a result of this natural cataclysm a natural dam was formed and a giant bowl deep of 38 meters was formed creating the lake. Even in hot summer days water temperature in the lake is not more than 12 Celsius degrees. The color of the water changes depending on the season, the weather and the temperature of the water.
After the visit of the big lake we will drive back to the city, the tour is ending.
